I recently purchased the KIZER VANGUARD SHEEPDOG XL V5488C4 on the Mojave Outdoors site. No regrets! This knife is a miniature hatchet. The overall quality is top notch and the price of this knife is much less than you would think for a 5" X 1-3/4" chunk of 154cm. (the blade is 4" but the length of the blade stock is 5") The heat treat on this chunk of blade steel is spot on!
When you hold it up next to your ear and carefully flip it open, it sounds more like a vault door than a knife blade. They did a great job on the micarta scales and when you grasp the opened knife securely in your hand with your thumb resting on the top of the scales and blade, you feel unstoppable!!! This puppy is up for anything you may throw at it!

This is an exceptional knife. One of those that fits the title of workhorse. Impeccably sharp, beautiful micarta scales. Sits nicely in the hand, a larger blade than I usually own, but I am so impressed with the grip and ease of use. The satisfaction of the resounding Kizer open flick, knowing your ready to work.

I carry it everywhere, I’m a big guy so it fits on me well. Don’t have any issues with it in just pocket at all. I took the screws out and reapplied blue loctite just for sheer comfort of no screws backing out! But 10/10 will buy another one. Thank you!

I really do enjoy the knife and it sharpens really well. The pocket clip unfortunately has broken from a snag on the seatbelt. I still carry this knife every day and use it regularly at work, putting it to the test in the landscaping field.
