I kinda love this knife. The action is SUPERB with a nice crispy detent. It has never failed to fly open when flipping the tab like a light switch. The ridged/textured micarta is really cool, feels great in the hand and doesn't shred the pocket because they left it smooth under the clip. Which is a very nice touch! The steel is excellent and holds an edge really well. In my opinion, the blade stock is a little thick for such a short blade, height-wise, but the well executed hollow grind mostly makes up for it. If the blade stock was .10 of an inch instead of .12, then this would be a truly superb slicer!
There's only 2 nit-picks that are keeping this from being a 5-star review:
1) The micarta insert on the front side is loose and audibly wiggles.
2) The spine of the blade is a lil' too angular/sharp. I was hoping for a more crowned/chamfered spine like on the Kizer mini Latt Vind.
Overall, I very much enjoy carrying, cutting and fidgeting with this knife!
Kizer Clutch Micarta Tan Ki4556A3 (3.39" Satin)
The Clutch shows a great deal of thought went into its design. I have quite a few titanium bolster lock knives, and all of them , of similar size , are substantially heavier. The very grippy milled micarta gives a very positive grip , while the milling in the titanium removes weight. The area under the pocket clip is milled flat, for easy deployment from a pocket. The detent is early, as I like it, and the action of the flipper tab is lightning quick, with the flipper placed above the pivot , for greater leverage than most other designs. It really is a great design. I've had it for several weeks now , and every time it leaves my pocket, its right back . Well done , Kizer .
Znakomita jakość wykonania, mechanika na najwyższym poziomie, ostrość fabryczna golenie włosów,jest to kolejny mój nóż marki KIZER i jak dotychczas się nie zawiodłem,z czystym sumieniem szczerze POLECAM.
I skined my whole Moose that I got last year up here in Alaska with this knife.
My hunting partner offered me 5 other knives during the process that were double the price I paid for this one.
I passed on all his offers because this knife has a great grip and the blade holds a great edge even while skinning on of the largest big game animals.
My all time favorite pocket knife.
Keep up the good work KIZER!
