I love the color of this aluminum.
The pivot system Kizer used in this knife is a pair of phosphor bronze washers on either side of the blade(4 total washers) with an oil absorbing paper washer in between. Also, in addition to a ceramic ball detent, there is guide rail carved into both sides of the aluminum scales that internal blade studs ride in to keep the blade secure. I guess this was engineered to prevent pivot rock and blade play on such a narrow handle.
It’s pretty interesting!
The action was pretty stiff at first, but I took it apart and lubricated the guide rails and paper washers, and now it flies open and shuts with a slight wrist flick.
All-in-all, I think it’s a nice and unique knife.
