DESCRIPTION
Richlite is a new material that Kizer adopts, and it feels very good. Only Kizer is available on the market. The red color makes the feist look more attractive, and the size is just right, not too big or too small, which is very suitable for daily carrying. The opening method of the front Flipper makes it very cool to take it out of the pocket, and the playability is very strong. If you are skilled, you might as well take it and try to fly it on your fingertips.

Cool little blade

The Feist is a great small knife. It's very sharp out of the box. Front flipper is super snappy, and closes very smoothly with just a tiny bit of oil in the pivot. The richlite scales feel good, and the whole thing is put together well. It makes a great light weight EDC you can bring anywhere. You won't even know you're carrying it.

Very nice knife, however a bit small for a front-flipper.

This being my first Feist, I had no idea how small it would actually be. I'm not normally a front-flipper guy, but I took a chance and ordered this and the agressor at the same time. With a little practice, I now find the agressor easy and fun to flip open, but I still fail this Feist about 50% of the time. If you're a front-flip master, then, by all means, pick this up. Likewise, if you don't care about deployment speed, buy it - you can always slow roll it. I purchased mainly for the 4V blade and Richlite scales - both of which are new to my collection. An excellent knife that could do with an alternate opening method - just my opinion though!

A very nice small knife

Overall, I'm glad I bought this well-made knife and have been back to the Kizer website a few times since the purchase.

I bought this knife because of the 4v blade steel. The knife came super (paper towel cutting) sharp. After breaking down a couple of boxes and opening some letters the blade remains super sharp. Not much of a test, but a good sign after about a month of use. I also stropped the blade on leather with some green compound (nothing special) and the blade got even a little sharper. Another good sign. 4v steel is known for its wear resistance.

I did a little research on the Richlite scales because I had not heard of Richlite. It's basically sheets of resin saturated paper fibers put under heat and pressure to produce a hard durable water-resistant material similar to paper Micarta. As well as knife scales, it's also used for cutting boards, countertops and guitar fretboards.

The handle material has a nice feel with good grip. Although difficult to see, the scales have a diagonal pattern which probably aids the grip.

This is a simple good-looking knife with a maroon (medium-dark red) matte finish and semi-gloss black hardware and blade.

This is my first front flipper, so it will take a bit to get used to. The blade is held securely in the open position by a liner lock. The blade swings open easily once the tension that keeps the blade securely in the handle is overcome. There is no blade play once open. The liner lock is fairly easy to get to. The blade drops shut and will stop on your thumbnail depending on how much tension you keep on the liner lock when releasing. Once stopped, the blade needs a shake or two to fully close. Of course you can avoid the blade dropping on the thumbnail by holding the knife scale side down, releasing the lock, and then either using the other hand to fully close the blade or shaking the blade fully closed.
